Cisco Systems on Sept. 12 is expected to announce specific details about its Master program for IT security specialists.

Edison Peres, VP of advanced and core technologies for Worldwide Channels, tells The VAR Guy that partners must either “go broad” or “go deep.” Those that go broad will need a good understanding of IT security, wireless, unified communications and/or switching and routing. Those that go deep will need to truly master a specific IT skill set.

First up is the Master Security program. Next up will be a specialized master program for Unified Communications. Stay tuned.
