Four Loop Technologies’ phone is ringing off the hook. The company, which develops an open source PBX called SwitchVox, is generating strong buzz in the reseller community.

“Being children of the Internet, we originally thought we could sell this thing online,” says Joshua Stephens, CEO of Four Loop/SwitchVox. “Then resellers and VARs approached us and asked if they could resell it.”

Four Loop’s early partners have helped the company to generate more than 1,000 customer deployments. With only eight employees, Four Loop will strive to build a more formal channel program in 2007.

“We’ll be adding features like mad to the product,” says Stephens. “Ninety percent of our development ideas come from customers and resellers. We’ll return the favor by providing VARs with more marketing materials in 2007.”

SwitchVox is based on Asterisk, an open source PBX software platform. For more details, The VAR Guy recommends checking out VoIP Planet’s coverage.
