If you’re a small VAR, keep your eyes on much bigger rivals in the weeks ahead. Their financial performance could give you some clues about IT spending trends for the rest of the year.
Already, Diamond Management and Technology Consultants of Chicago has delivered a weaker-than-expected sales forecast. And last week, Tech Data predicted that its 1Q sales would be a bit softer than Wall Street expected. The VAR Guy hopes both announcements were isolated events.
Next up, watch for Oracle’s earnings on March 20. A strong showing, anticipated by JMP Securities, could give VARs piece of mind as they increasingly invest in ERP and business intelligence opportunities.
