There’s nothing like a good feud between technology vendors. A case in point: NetSuite, the online software provider, is taking aim at Sage with several statements that most technology companies wouldn’t have the nerve to write.
In a NetSuite release issued May 31, the company’s United Kingdom team offers free data migration tools to customers who agree to move from Sage to Netsuite platforms. That sounds harmless enough. But read a little further and NetSuite UK describes Sage’s products as “fragmented, non-integrated product offerings.” Hmmm. Them’s fighting words.
In another classic line, NetSuite says, “This new offer enables companies to move from Sage’s Stone Age applications to NetSuite’s Internet Age applications painlessly.”
Just in case the Sage folks don’t feel insulted yet, the NetSuite folks offer the following nugget: “With more than 30 different product lines, Sage has never solved the problem of cross-departmental information flow and its products only integrate weakly, if at all.” Ouch.
The VAR Guy isn’t endorsing NetSuite’s claims. He’s just trying to keep the cat fight between the two companies going. Will Sage take the high road or return fire?
