Most tech research reports are far too bullish. But in the case of a recent report on Unified Communications, The VAR Guy thinks the market is growing even faster than the experts claim.
Infonetics estimates that year-over-year sales of Unified Communications solutions grew 21 percent to $363 million worldwide. A tip of the hat to Mark Evans, a blogger who runs All About Nortel, for spotting the report.
Just about everyone agrees Unified Communications is a growth market. But The VAR Guy thinks actual sales are much higher than Infonetics’ estimates. The reason: The report likely doesn’t include all of the back-end network equipment upgrades that Unified Communications and TelePresence require.
