I purchased a 13" Macbook back in April. On the day of the 10.5 release I purchased it and upgraded the notebook from Tiger. It went off without a hitch. I NEVER had any trouble. It was such a great experience that I decided to give my 13" Macbook to my sister and purchase the 17" Macbook Pro. Using Time Machine I imported my data and apps without an issue. All my user accounts transferred with the correct configurations. I didn't have to tweak anything. It was like I had cloned the Macbook.</p> <p>Also, in response to the poster that had trouble with airport after the upgrade. I had trouble with airport prior to the upgrade. This trouble disappeared after I switched ISPs. AT&T service at my new home degraded to such a bad level that my job gave me a broadband mobile card so I didn't have to connect my work computer (wintel laptop) directly to the router. Also, AT&T's attitude about assisting with the problem was less than professional. Instead of acknowledging there was a problem, they'd send a person to test the lines and then leave me a voice mail saying everything was fine, it was my brand new notebook computer and all the wintel computer's wireless cards that was the problem. The same notebook that wirelessly connected to public networks without effort but for some reason had trouble with my home AT&T line. That song changed after I called to cancel the service.</p> <p>I've always been a Mac fanatic. I had an Apple II back in the day, so yes I'm obsessed. I just love the elegance of the hardware and software. Yes, we have to accept what Apple throws at us. They wouldn't have been able to fix it until the recent firmware update came out... The good thing is, if there is a problem with your mac generally a fix comes out within a month or as soon as they find out the cause of the issue. If something stops working on your pc, you generally need to live with it or buy a new part.</p> <p>I have personally never had any hardware issues with any of my macs, but I acknowledge that there are some faults that do occur. Tried to move a folder from MY desktop to MY Documents folder and Windows said me that I don't have permissions to do it... I don't even have permissions to move my files to my folders? That's very comic... And now i'm sure...my next computer wil be a mac... I live in Portugal and here Macs are very very rare... And I'm surprised that you people who had a 5 year old mac and upgraded to leopard and it ran flawless... my 3 year old desktop PC can't hold the upgrade to vista... driver imcompatibilty... I'm ashamed of having two PC's and zero macs... I also admire the Apple programmers ability and creativty to make software... Things new , not copied from Windows like Microsoft does...
