The VAR Guy has never been a big proponent of Microsoft Small Business Server. Older releases were difficult to reconfigure as a business grew. Still, solutions providers are finding creative ways to communicate the value of SBS to their customers. One case in point: Check out this nifty piece of viral marketing from Resolve Technology, a solutions provider in New Hampshire.

Like a growing number of VARs, Resolve Technology has launched a corporate blog to help raise the company’s visibility, and to share timely thoughts with readers. One of the VAR’s first entries, “Top 10 Reasons Why I Run Small Business Server 2003” crystallizes the potential business value of SBS.

The VAR Guy isn’t suggesting SBS is for everyone. In fact, he thinks software as a service (SaaS) is the better way to go for many small business engagements.

But at a time when most VARs focus far too much on bits and bytes, Resolve Technology has found a way to easily communicate the potential business benefits of SBS. Assuming Resolve Technology continues to update the blog, the entries will greatly improve Resolve Technology’s search engine optimization (SEO) across the web.

Want to follow Resolve Technology’s lead? Launching a corporate blog provides plenty of upside. But it also introduces new challenges to your company. Check out this list of best practices for corporate blogging from our sister site, MSPmentor.net.
