It’s an election year, and The VAR Guy is starting to sound like a politician waffling on a key issue. He’s been hyping Microsoft Dynamics in posts. But another blogger raises the possibility that Dynamics ain’t so hot. Here’s the scoop.
In recent weeks, The VAR Guy has noticed that many partners seem to embracing Microsoft Dynamics. In fact, the ERP and CRM platform appears to be gaining momentum in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) market. Then came word that EDS is lining up to support Dynamics.
Great news, right? Sure, The VAR Guy mentioned that Salesforce.com and SugarCRM seem to be hotter platforms, but Dynamics finally has momentum.
Or does it? ZDnet has an interesting blog post that applies some quick math to Microsoft’s Dynamics business. And while it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly how fast Dynamics is selling, ZDnet concludes that things aren’t quite as hot as The VAR Guy earlier stated.
Anybody care to defend our resident blogger’s upbeat views? Or is ZDnet on the mark?
Update, 3/14: Here’s another very skeptical blogger, this time from SeekingAlpha.com writing about Dynamics.
