Wayne: Can you clarify your comment. Who has "too much going on this year"? Canonical? The Linux industry? Potential sponsors like Sun? Attendees?

I realize events come and go. Canceling the event isn't that huge of a deal ... but Canonical failing to announce WHY the event was canceled IS a big deal. Ubuntu is positioned as a growing, thriving platform. By canceling an event without stating why, Canonical may cause fear, uncertainty and doubt among Ubuntu partners.

There may be a perfectly logical, reasonable explanation for canceling the event. But so far, Canonical has been mum. Right now there's no mention of the cancellation on Canonical's news site and Canonical's own corporate blog hasn't been updated since February.

I really think there is too much going on this year. The limited funds are probably better spent elsewhere.
