As far as Microsoft is to be believed, it seems that Windows 7 will be Vista running on new hardware, hopefully powerful enough and more compatible with the Microsoft product. Almost like XP (NT 5.1), which was meant to replace Windows 98 (non-NT) rather than Windows 2000 (NT 5.1)

Microsoft have already hamfisted Windows 7 by dumping the MinWin kernel that big corporate organizations were holding out for.

Windows 7 will now come with the Vista kernel and driver model, not to mention the Touch interface from Surface. Which also happens to be based on Vista.

So Windows 7 will basically just be Vista with a new name and not much more. When exactly did the Var Guy decide we were so stupid?

get this: The DOUGman believes Microsoft is going to get Windows 7, 8, 9 and 10 wrong, *VERY* wrong. I am not a MAC person per se’, as I do not believe one should pay more for the same type of hardware unnecessarily, but Apple is making great strides and I commend them.

The IPOD and IPHONE, the person that came up with those ideas should exec VP of the company.
