The next version of Windows isn’t fully baked, but it has an official name. As expected, the forthcoming successor to Windows Vista will be called Windows 7. Somewhere, George Costanza is complaining somebody stole his kid’s name … again.

7 is popular. Some consider it a lucky number. I doubt it will be lucky for M$. What if they hold a party and no one comes? What if retail, by that time, offers real choice on the desktop? What if business loses it fear of change by then? GNU/Linux can have two releases more by then. Awesome. FUD failed.
