Starting this month, WorksWithU will be testing and reviewing roughly one Ubuntu-oriented system per month. The first reviews will involve systems from ZaReason (early December) and then System76. Here are some early details about our efforts.
These won’t be traditional product reviews. Frankly, we don’t plan to build a lab and we’re not that interested in “speeds and feeds.” Rather, we want readers to understand which Ubuntu-oriented systems are most ideal for various user bases (beginning consumers, K-12 students, college students, corporate desktops, mobile WiFi, desktop replacements, etc.).
ZaReason and System76 were the first two Ubuntu-focused computer companies to lend us systems for testing. We typically return the systems to their maker within 30 days of reception. If there’s an Ubuntu system you’d like us to potentially review, please email me (joe [at] ninelivesmediainc.com).
WorksWithU is updated multiple times per week. Don’t miss a single post. Sign up for our RSS and Twitter feeds (available now) and newsletter (launching January 2009).
