		<description>For some time, Asterisk has been quietly subsuming the market. I expect you&#039;re right; if Digium plays its cards right and manages to field a sufficient support force, it will dominate substantially. 

I would not be surprised to see similar scenarios play out in vertical market software. Many a lucrative vertical niche has been dominated by Windows- and sometimes Mac-specific software. Increasingly, Open Source alternatives are beginning to be developed to a point where they offer a better option for many. End-user support, however, is often not well-served by an email or forum context.</description>
