Forgive The VAR Guy if he’s a little confused. Gartner just released a “Cool Vendors in Unified Communications, 2009″ report. Ummm. When did CIOs start looking for cool vendors? And when did Gartner replace Arthur Fonzarelli as the ultimate judge of cool?
Kidding aside, the “Cool Vendor” list does a nice job of noting up-and-coming unified communications vendors that some CIOs may otherwise overlook. Noteworthy names landing on Gartner’s “cool” list include Agito Networks and Unison Communications.
But The VAR Guy must confess: He thinks Gartner should leave the “Cool Vendor” lists to media folks who can’t find any other content to fill their blogs. Heck, if Gartner is going into the cool list business, what is The VAR Guy going to do all day?
