Brian: This is a dangerous time for the media and readers alike. Media companies are stretched thin and go for the easy, traffic-producing headlines. Even The VAR Guy is sometimes guilty of stating the obvious but failing to dig a little deeper to find the not-so-obvious.

But, there is hope: Open web sites -- where readers are allowed to weigh in with their informed perspectives -- help to drive conversations forward. Readers, just like editors, have to continue asking the tough questions.

I was also thinking to myself about the Android 900% growth - that this is another half truth because and thus iPhone FUD and if you look the facts the other way you get the opposite picture: in terms of sheer numbers growth - iPhone is by far the leader. Don't get me wrong, I do like Android better cause it's based on Linux, I just don't like when the media spreads half truths and "select" information, that is the Microsoft way to do PR.
