I’d be more impressed with Novell if they actually converted some Windows shops to Linux rather than take existing Linux installs and change them to Novellsoft Linux.

That’s why Microsoft sells Linux (coupons) because Novell isnt attacking its positions but those of other Linux business.

But over time it has become clear that some CIOs chose an integrated Windows-SUSE Linux environment precisely because MSFT and NOVL inked a deep partnership. Also, it's good to see MSFT and NOVL supporting each others' virtualization efforts. Still, The VAR Guy thinks Novell should have avoided the <a href="http://www.novell.com/linux/microsoft/faq.html" rel="nofollow">patent issue</a>.
