Meow. A cat fight has broken out between ChannelWeb and ChannelInsider, and Hewlett-Packard got caught in the middle. On the one hand, ChannelWeb praises HP’s new Web connected printer. Clap, clap. On the other hand, rival ChannelInsider pans the printer. Boo, hiss. But perhaps that isn’t the full story.
After all:
- ChannelWeb offered five reasons why the HP printer will succeed.
- On the same day, ChannelInsider responded with six reasons why the HP printer would fail.
The VAR Guy has to wonder:
- Is ChannelInsider serving readers?
- Or is ChannelInsider playing opposite day — and taking a shot at its entrenched cross-town rival, ChannelWeb?

But in this case, the HP pro-and-con coverage seems to be a lame game of oneupsmanship. Five of this. Six of that. Yawn.
