Vyatta positions itself as the open source alternative to Cisco Systems. But what exactly does that mean? And how is Vyatta working with Citrix Systems, which recently invested in Vyatta? To find the answers, I spoke with Kelly Herrell (pictured), CEO of Vyatta.

Great interview! I remember seeing you guys on a TechTarget video last year.(Dave Roberts, I think) You guys always present well.
Your positioning statement reminds me of an old interview where a reporter told a Lance Armstrong that he could become the next Gregg Lemond…
And his reply was something along the lines of “I’m Not the Next Greg LeMond. I’m the First Lance Armstrong.”
Storagepipe: Thanks for listening in. One of these days, The VAR Guy will actually show up to host his own podcasts. In the meantime, Joe has the microphone and Vyatta’s CEO was more than happy to join the conversation.
BTW: Who is that LeMond guy?
