Forgive The VAR Guy if he mixes business with pleasure for a few minutes. Our resident blogger hears Tech Data’s TechSelect Conference (Nov. 12-15) will be held at Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort in Orlando. A certain blogger and future monorail driver may need to make the trip…
Fact is, The VAR Guy’s home away from home is Walt Disney World. But our resident blogger has never actually stayed at the Contemporary Resort — which is only a few hundred yards from The Magic Kingdom’s entrance.
Hmmm… The VAR Guy may need to hitch another ride on the monorail.

Blogging for a living sounds pretty cool VAR Guy. But blogging for a living and covering technology conferences in Disneyworld sounds too good to be true. How did you get your gig????
I’ve not stayed at the Contemporary (yet), but recently stayed at the Grand Floridian while attending an event. VERY nice. Let us know what you think about the Contemporary.
Frankie: There’s only one secret to a successful blog… Never stop typing.
Lynette: Grand Floridian is hard to beat. The VAR Guy may look like an upscale guy (hat, jacket, tie). But our resident blogger’s overall attire like wouldn’t qualify for a stay at the Grand Floridian. Beautiful location. And The VAR Guy did actually have lobster there once.
Contemporary is… well, no so. Stayed their a few years ago. What’s the word… “dated”. Yes that’s it. But as you pointed out, the monorail runs right through the middle of it. So that’s something.
Exigo: The VAR Guy believes Disney renovated the Contemporary about two years ago. But ultimately, that destination is all about location, location, location.
