It&#039;s not really so much &#039;watering-down&#039; as it is correct usage. If the &quot;check engine&quot; light went on every time the gas light went on &#039;just to be sure,&#039; that&#039;d be really annoying. This was kind of the case with Vista. It&#039;d ask you if you were sure about doing things you previously had confidence in while running XP. It was over-kill. It&#039;s been tweaked so it pops up (like in OS X) only when system files or other sensitive OS data is being written to.

I believe, overall, it&#039;s a step forward.</description>
