Hameed, this is very true and something I have blogged about before. Signing up with a reseller or an affiliate program is a great way to get in the game with very little up front risk or expense. The downside is that you lose control over your margins, services being offered, and in some cases the customer relationship. For any VAR or Distributor that views cloud/SaaS as strategic to the future of their business, developing and managing their own platform makes long-term success.

VAR's can just go to a good hosting company and sign up as a reseller. They don't have to build the infrastructure themselves.
