Avnet Technology Solutions and Riverbed are getting together to give VARs more training, tools and networking know-how than you can shake a stick at. Here’s some perspective on the moves and why you might be inclined to take a look.
Avnet and Riverbed’s partnership is a move aimed at ‘improving their customers’ network performance and security.’ Through the new distribution agreement, Avnet plans on distributing Riverbed‘s entire product line through its value-added reseller partner community. North America, only. Sorry.
We spoke to Riverbed not too long ago for a briefing on their product strategy. For the uninitiated, Riverbed specializes in WAN optimizations and other complex issues that cause network headaches. Riverbed’s tech is also geared towards optimizing application performance across enterprise networks.
Meanwhile, Avnet’s recently annouced NetworkPath is taking Riverbed’s products into the fold, meaning that NetworkPath partners can leverage all the training and specialization you’d normally get, now with Riverbed products too.
Of course, Avent doesn’t want to play favorites. The company stresses that NetworkPath “can be used in conjunction with other Avnet technology and vertical market practices to further hone partners’ skills and expand their expertise.”
