Intronis is set to announce the hiring of a new channel chief. But that’s not all. The online backup specialist has also hired a new VP of sales, the grape vine tells The VAR Guy. Here’s where Intronis is heading next, and the potential implications for VARs seeking storage as a service solutions.
First, the facts: Sources say Ted Roller is set to become VP of channel development at Intronis. Roller previously was VP of North America Channel Development at itControl Solutions, a managed services software specialist. Also on tap: Sources say Intronis is set to name a new VP of sales. The position apparently involves a candidate who previously worked at Gomez Technology and Oracle. It sounds like Intronis will make an official announcement within days. (For more information start your LinkedIn bio searches… now.)
Roller replaces Eric Webster, who left Intronis in April 2010 for undisclosed opportunities. At the time, CEO Sam Gutmann said Intronis remained committed to the channel. Gutmann has backed up that claim by keeping Intronis in front of VARs and MSPs. One recent example: Intronis has been on the road at MSP University Boot Camps. Next up, The VAR Guy is curious to know if Intronis and Roller will surface at the CompTIA Breakaway conference (Aug. 9-12, San Antonio).
Oh, and one other thing: Where has Eric Webster gone? The VAR Guy is Sleepless in Washington, D.C., pondering that thought. But perhaps our resident blogger should be Sleepless in Seattle instead…
