Celeros hasn’t traditionally be on our radar, but a virtualization move involving VMware has caught our attention. Celeros’ claim to fame is storage appliances, and today, the XD line of appliances has achieved the VMware Ready stamp of approval.

Quick rundown: Celeros specialize in high performance iSCSI and IP storage area networks. They also, of  course, do NAS, SANFilter, and consolidation of storage assets. They mainly target the medium sized enterprise, with a focus on ease of use. Celeros XD Series is labeled as a complete unified storage appliance, which bridges and connects SAS, SATA, SAN and NAS backup technology into one central and supposedly easy to use central console for administration.

Available now in VMware’s Partner Product Catalog is the XD Series of storage appliances. The potential bonus? Celeros XD Series SAN solutions apparently play nice with VMware vSphere 4 and the other vendors that collaborate in a VMware environment.
