Imprivata has inked a partnership with VMware. The move integrates Imprivata’s OneSign secure user access solutions with VMware. In theory, the partnership will offer partners and customers more secure access to virtual desktops. Here are the quick details…
Imprivata‘s claim to fame involves simplifiedsecure user access. VMware’s relationship with Imprivata integrates VMware’s View technology with Imprivata’s OneSign. The result? A more secure and “convenient end-point data access” for both roaming desktops and stand-alone virtual ones, the companies claim. VMware and Imprivata are walking hand in hand in sales, support and marketing. They plan to jointly target health care and other markets where virtual desktop and ease of security are paramount.
The move comes amid a Gartner report that says the uptake on virtual machines is “set to increase throughout enterprise” due to the flexibility and relative cost-effective centralized management abilities.
Imprivata’s OneSign has been their flagship product, and has integrated with GE Healthcare, MEDITECH, Siemens Healthcare and others. Imprivata’s suite also includes self-service password reset and “seamless” integration with existing management solutions, the company claims.
We’ll be watching VMware-related solutions closely as the VMworld conference approaches (Aug. 30-Sept. 2, San Francisco).
