The VAR Guy eats up channel news like a Hoover on dirt, but sometimes news slips through the cracks. This time, our resident blogger was so busy attending partner conferences that he missed out on FalconStor’s new PartnerChoice partner program. With a mighty mea culpa for missing the news, here’s a rundown of PartnerChoice …
PartnerChoice is a three-tiered channel partner program that’s geared to optimizing marketing and sales support based on a partner’s business model. Central to the program is the PartnerPlace Web portal, which allows partners to manage their opportunities, gives them access to their account information and, of course, provides an expansive amount of knowledge-based materials.
The motive behind the formal program was to reinvest resources, help build out long-term relationships with partners that increase profitability, and maintain a high level of customer service. The VAR Guy also notes that FalconStor is looking for partners at any level to engage in financial incentives, sales, tools, deal registration and margin building. No minimum requirements is a nice perk.
The VAR Guy is always happy to see vendors formalize and update their channel programs to reflect the changing times. What FalconStor has done with its PartnerChoice program puts the vendor on par with most other channel-focused companies looking to derive more revenue from their partners — a win-win situation if The VAR Guy ever saw one.
But, as our resident blogger has noted many times before, the proof will be in whether partners think the changes really are positive. Meanwhile, FalconStor already has some happy partner quotes that you can read here.
