TDCloud will educate VARs on the latest cloud-based revenue streams, in addition to training, services and support. Enablement tools can help VARs work with their customers to find and develop their cloud needs, be they data centers, private, public and hybrid cloud architectures or all the way out to “the edge.”

Tech Data’s launch of TDCloud comes as Tech Data finds an ongoing demand for “alternative IT computing and consumption.” TDCloud and TDCloud Academy are apparently Tech Data’s first focused steps in helping VARs succeed in the cloud era. In addition, Tech Data is working with leading IT vendors to shape solutions and programs that meet scalability and security demands VARs need.

TDCloud’s solutions are built on three new VAR offerings:

• Cloud Builder: servers, storage, networks, virtualization and security products exist in this category, helping VARs deploy private clouds for end-users on and off premise
• Cloud Provider: VARs building out their own infrastructure as a service can find resources on hosted solutions here
• Cloud Reseller: VARs can learn to better leverage existing public cloud infrastructures and resources for white-labeling. In addition, TDCloud will offer branding and packaging information to help VARs sell these solutions without integration issues.

Tech Data’s TDCloud Academy provides a tiered education program for resellers with information and training on how to make cloud a profitable part of business. If you’re a VAR having trouble understanding, defining and grasping what the elusive “cloud” really is, TDAcademy will cover that, too.
