It’s the ubiquitous five-letter word that won’t go away: cloud. And now, Avnet Technology Solutions is driving home a new cloud initiative to help VARs, ISVs and partners get the training they need to get into the cloud. Designed to be a ‘dual track’ training system, the program is designed to educate trainees on the sales and technical aspects of cloud solutions. More details follow …
Avnet believes there’s a large number of resellers who want to get in on the cloud but just don’t have the resources available to them. Hence, the new training tracks. The two-day training session is designed to help partners learn the ins and out of growing a profitable cloud-based business. Avnet will have its own “solution architects” teaching the programs, starting with cloud foundations and a fundamental understanding of just what the cloud is, followed by how to build out a cloud infrastructure. More specifically, the Sales Track will focus on sales and account planning and provide a “sales toolkit to jump-start the sales process.” The Solutions Engineering Track will feature Avnet technical staff instructing how to build out a successful cloud architecture that also allows for scalability and growth — part of what Avnet calls the “Cloud Maturity Model,” essentially a blueprint for growing a customer’s cloud based on needs.
All of this training comes under Avnet’s CloudReady fold, which itself is part of Avnet’s ever-growing list of SolutionPath tracks. CloudReady also features an online training webinar providing an overview of key cloud elements. CloudReady certifications can be aligned with SolutionPaths to enable partners to dive deeper into key technology verticals.
Worth noting are other big distributors also focusing on cloud specializations, including Tech Data’s TDCloud and the TDCloud Academy, along with Ingram Micro’s cloud partnerships with Cloud Marketplace. If you’re a partner with any of these big distribution companies, it’s time to take advantage of the available resources.
