Dot Hill, the virtual storage specialist, has named two new VPs to help bolster the company’s channel efforts and customer service programs. The key moves: Brad Painter has been named VP of worldwide channel sales and Scott Brooks becomes VP of customer services and sales.
Painter joined Dot Hill from Pillar Data Systems, where he was VP of worldwide channel sales. He also held channel and sales-related positions at Lantronix, Applied Micro Circuits Corp., Crossroads Systems, Pinacor, Exabyte and Hewlett-Packard. Meanwhile, Brooks has previously held customer service positions at LSI’s Engenio Storage Group (recently acquired by NetApp), Diebold and QMS Inc. Both Painter and Brooks have more than 20 years experience in the market.
Still, a bigger story is unfolding at Dot Hill. Even before the VP announcements, Dot Hill’s virtual storage solutions seemed to be gaining momentum in the channel. Dot Hill’s 2010 channel revenues grew 54 percent vs. 2010, the company says. We’ll be watching to see if Dot Hill discusses 2011 channel revenues growth in the weeks and months ahead.
