Yes, The VAR Guy has a new owner — Penton Media. But did The VAR Guy sell his soul when Penton acquired Nine Lives Media? Hardly. Our resident blogger visited Penton Media’s Fort Collins, Colo., offices this week. During the visit, The VAR Guy gathered lots of information about Penton Media’s web prowess. It’s too soon to say how The VAR Guy may potentially leverage those resources. But our resident blogger promises to maintain his unique voice. Here’s a look at the visit.

Actually, you won’t see The VAR Guy in the following video. But you may spot Penton Technology Group Market Leader Peg Miller. The Nine Lives organization, run by President Amy Katz, now reports Miller:

The times certainly are a changin’ for The VAR Guy. But change is good. It has been nearly four years since Nine Lives launched MSPmentor and The VAR Guy. Plus, sister site Talkin’ Cloud celebrates its first anniversary in December 2011. Each site remains in growth mode. But it’s always nice to have an experienced parent. Leveraging Penton Media’s experts, The VAR Guy plans to conquer the world — or at least the IT channel.
