Ingram Micro continues to expand its technology partner base. This time the wholesale provider of technology products has signed a distribution partnership with Next Level Security Systems (NLSS), a physical security firm that also offers unified network security technologies to  the retail, commercial and government markets, among others.

Ingram Micro’s Physical Security unit — which is made up of sales, marketing outreach and tech support personnel — will sell and support NLSS’ Gateway, a security management platform that integrates video management capabilities with video analytics, intrusion detection and remote management. On the NLSS side, the company will be able to leverage Ingram’s vast market reach and offer its solutions to both enterprise companies and SMBs.  And more good news for Ingram Micro resellers and end-users: NLSS’ open architecture already supports Ingram Micro’s surveillance and access control partners. Translation? Next Level’s security solution is as easy as plug-and-play for Ingram partners. No configuration is needed.

Ingram Micro Physical Security General Manager Tom Burns noted that technology companies are moving away from “disparate IT systems,” and opting for a single open architectural platform that is both secure and easy to use. That, he said, is the main reason Ingram Micro sought out this distribution partnership with Next Level. “Next Level’s integrated solutions combine the performance, sophistication and functionality of enterprise-class security systems in a compact, cost-effective package that benefits companies of all sizes,” Burns said in a prepared statement. “We’re very pleased to add their innovative products to our growing physical solution portfolio.”

If you’ve missed any other Ingram Micro news over the last quarter, the company has been on a tear. It has created its own Healthcare Partner Network and credit card service for VARs and MSPs, introduced a cloud provisioning system and has been competing with Tech Data’s version of a cloud marketplace.
