Dot Hill is making strategic storage moves in an agreement with distributor Info X to put more of Dot Hill’s storage solution portfolio deeper into cloud and virtualization networking solutions. Dot Hill has long been ramping up its virtualization and SAN technologies, and Info X has a long history of serving storage VARs. Read on for the details and The VAR Guy’s unique perspective …
Info X boasts more than “2,000 storage VARs, VMware resellers, OEMs and system integrators worldwide,” so for Dot Hill, the fit was natural, especially since Dot Hill’s current mission is to grow its U.S. and Canadian channels (see: BEXSA). Dot Hill’s agreement with Info X will have Info X distributing Dot Hill’s AssuredSAN and AssuredUVS technology specifically.
Dot Hill is keen on reaching customers with its AssuredSAN technology for backup, data availability and business continuity, while Dot Hill’s Assured Unified Virtual Storage Appliances have been specifically designed to be interoperable with “multi-vendor storage assets” and create enhanced data management and consolidation, according to the company. Dot Hill is bullish on the distribution deal, since storage is constantly in demand and penetrating the storage market is key to growing storage opportunities.
Dot Hill is constantly looking to bring high-end storage virtualization equipment to the SMB/SME market, so increasing channel distribution with Info X should help the company reach those key areas.
Meanwhile, our resident blogger suggests interested parties check out Dot Hill’s new VP appointments, along with its massive Aurora RAID arrays.
