One of the largest and often-overlooked verticals is the government space. Need proof that the channel should be looking focusing more on it? Avaya Government Solutions recently turned on the U.S. Coast Guard to its technology, standardizing the organization on Avaya solutions exclusively. Here’s the rundown …

The Avaya Aura communications platform now is the engine behind the U.S. Coast Guard’s Central Service Desk, based in St. Louis, the conglomerated epicenter formed after the Coast Guard closed 11 other service desks across the United States. With Avaya’s Aura Communication Manager and Call Center Elite, the Coast Guard now can deal with a lot more volume and a much improved efficiency. Plus, the solution is expected to last the Coast Guard for the next 25 years.

Avaya has also been aggressive in the channel, with moves to improve partner channel engagement and enhancements with SIP standardization. If you’re breaking into the UC world, especially in the government space, you may also want to check out distribution company Jenne Inc., which has focused on personal partner attention alongside specialized training UC technology.
